Industrial installations require periodic inspections to remain safe and reliable. KTS performs inspections across two disciplines: IA&E (Instrumentation, Automation & Electrical) and Mechanical. Together, these disciplines cover the full technical scope of a production facility.

IA&E Inspections

Electrical installations and automation systems form the nervous system of any production environment. Faults or defects lead directly to downtime or safety hazards. Periodic inspections prevent this.

• NEN 3140 / NEN 1010 inspections
  Periodic inspection of low-voltage installations in accordance with legal requirements. Including visual inspection, measurement, testing and reporting with findings and recommendations.
• Thermographic surveys
  Thermal imaging of switchboards, distribution panels and connections to detect hotspots early, before they cause failures or fire hazards.
• Instrumentation calibration
  Verification and calibration of measuring instruments, transmitters and sensors. Ensuring process values are accurate and safety functions respond correctly.
• SIL verification
  Assessment and verification of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). Maintaining functional safety through periodic checks of the safety chain.
• ATEX inspections
  Inspection of electrical equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres. In compliance with the ATEX directive (2014/34/EU) and NEN-EN-IEC 60079.

Mechanical Inspections

Mechanical installations are subject to wear, fatigue and corrosion. Periodic inspections are legally required for pressure equipment and lifting gear, and essential for other systems to prevent unplanned downtime.

• Pressure equipment
  Inspection of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers and piping systems in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68/EU).
• Lifting gear & equipment
  Periodic inspection of cranes, hoists, slings and other lifting equipment in accordance with labour safety regulations and the Machinery Directive.
• Rotating equipment
  Inspection of pumps, compressors, fans and drives. Vibration analysis, alignment checks and wear assessment to maximise service life.
• Piping & valves
  Wall thickness measurement, visual inspection and leak detection of process piping, shut-off valves and safety relief valves.
• Steel structures
  Inspection of support structures, platforms, stairs and handrails for corrosion, deformation and connection defects.
